Around town Saturday

We waited for the slippery driving to clear a bit, and were late doing our Saturday food shopping. I was a somewhat surprised there was little to no traffic on the highway, people here are used to driving in much worse. As a rule my husband does the driving weekends, so I tried to capture some shots on-the-go from the car of the snow views. Honestly it’s a tad boring scenery-wise in winter and so much more beautiful spring and summer here.

Wet and slushy walking meant I had to wear my big girl boots of course. As a rule I go barefoot whenever possible at home year round. In this weather people gawk at me as I shovel snow in my door yard wearing flip-flops. My husband insisted I wear these boots much to my complaining. I just hate shoes, I’m not sure if this is an age thing or me. Probably the latter.

A city snow mover at work. This guy and others literally go up and down the streets scooping up and removing all snow banks left behind by street plows. We have a winter ban on street parking December through March citywide due to this.

And this was yesterday, more of a fall scene below. I was out running errands and snapped this photo on the way home. It’s a lovely drive summers and even more beautiful in autumn. The road empties out at the base next to a large river, a popular route for walking and runners. Yesterday we had green grass, today snow, tomorrow who knows.
