January in New England
Winter is a necessary evil to get to the good springtime and summer weather that will follow later.
I love the New England climate. I have lived in tropical weather and traveled abroad, but moved back to the northeast for the four seasons I adore and grew up with. As a youngster and with my children I was always outdoors playing this time of year, ice fishing, driving snow sleds, hiking and all the things that can be done year round. Yes winter can be a hardship and annoying, you need to find the one thing of the season to make it easier to enjoy it. It won't last forever, to some it's good and some bad.
Summers can be spent viewing the coastal ocean sights or cooling off canoeing on a lake. Autumn we have some of those most scenic trail hiking and camping destinations. I still like walking winters, but having to tone down the physical activity is a big adjustment from the neck down. I'm in my early sixties now yet my young mind and body aren't in much agreement with each other. We do what we can with what we are given!
