Windy Wednesday

It’s a frigid windy Wednesday, and I’m off today from work. I have my poor plants all huddled in the bedroom, the warmest room, by the one window that gets the most sunlight. I’m hoping they make it until spring there though they are not looking too happy. Usually they are spread around our flat, the fern itself is usually out in the garden but I brought it indoors for winter. I took this photo one morning when the sun was rising. I thought the sun peeking through the window blinds was pretty.

Today is a low-key day while my lower back gets a rest from the lifting I do at work. Between that and the cold weather it’s been a struggle. Summer and warmer weather are much kinder health-wise. Today we had an appointment for my spouse to have a tooth extraction, then home to play catch up on my housework and make him some soup broth until he can have solid food.
It’s ridiculous that a dentist these days isn't willing to pull one molar and sends you off to an oral surgeon.

A few years ago I had my wisdom teeth all pulled by a local dentist with just a local anesthetic (my choice). Having been a dental assistant myself in my younger years I know my way around dentistry. Sending a patient off to an oral surgeon, while sometimes necessary for many reasons, is a huge cost for anyone with or without insurance. Luckily this time we have dental care through our employer. As I sat in the waiting room during the visit I got a little creative (below) with my phone camera. My husband was in the dental chair and out within 30 minutes, done. Not bad!
